Alberta Small Communities Conference is a forum to support community leaders by addressing common issues and sharing positive knowledge and experience. The focus is small communities with a population of 2500 or less who are encouraged to maintain their unique individualism while working together to share and seek solutions for success and sustainability.
The Small Communities Conference was first started in Edgerton, Alberta in 2000. Since then, it has been hosted in Legal, Turner Valley/ Black Diamond, Swan Hills and Forestburg.
2010 and future years brings great change and small communities must adapt in order to maintain our independence and thrive in our niche.
The theme
was chosen as it relates to diverse aspects small communities are faced with. To better prepare for our future, we can create awareness and educate ourselves on future changes.
We can adapt for a brighter tomorrow for our future and generations to come.
